   Ard mustered into the Confederate 11th Texas Cavalry Regiment on October 2, 1861 at Camp Reeves, in Grayson County, Texas. Major George W. Chilton of the 3rd Texas Cavalry was the Mustering Officer. He was present for the December 31, 1861 Muster Roll. No further record.

William B. Albright Mustered into Texas State Infantry Service on June 28, 1861 in Boston, in Bowie County, Texas. Chief Justice John A. Talbot was the Mustering Officer. He served in State service through the reformation to Cavalry and mustering out. His age was reported at 21 years old on the Captain Wallis’ Muster Roll. No CSA records with Company K found for Albright.

John M. Armstrong Enlisted into the Texas State Service on July 10, 1861 or August 1, 1861 (depending on which State Muster Roll you read) at Fort Washita, Chickasaw Nation, by Lieutenant T. H. Wallace. He served in State service through the reformation to Cavalry and mustering out. His age was reported at 27 years old on the Captain Wallis’ Muster Roll.

   His horse was killed in the battle of Elk Horn on March 7, 1862. Paid $125 for loss of the horse on August 15, 1863 at Camp Beech Creek, near Rome, Georgia. Served through the war and was paroled at Talladega, Alabama in May of 1865 by U.S.A. Brevet Brigadier General Chrysler.

K.W. Ball  Mustered into Texas State Infantry Service on June 28, 1861 in Boston, in Bowie County, Texas. Chief Justice John A. Talbot was the Mustering Officer. He served in State service through the reformation to Cavalry and mustering out. His age was reported at 21 years old on the Captain Wallis’ Muster Roll.

   Ball mustered into the Confederate 11th Texas Cavalry Regiment on October 2, 1861 at Camp Reeves, in Grayson County, Texas. Major George W. Chilton of the 3rd Texas Cavalry was the Mustering Officer. He was wounded in action (Slightly) near Farmington, Mississippi when accidently shot by a member of his own Company on May 9, 1962. The record actually states that he was wounded on May 9, 1863, but there is mention of Army of the West, General Van Dorn, etc., which indicates 1862. Became Acting Commissary Sergeant on the Field and Staff in late 1863 and final Muster Rolls.

J.B. Bearsfield  Is not shown on Captain Morris’ State Muster Roll. On Captain Wallis’ Muster Roll, it is said the he mustered into the Texas State service on June 28, 1861 at Boston in Bowie County, Texas. Chief Justice John A. Talbot was the Mustering Officer. Bearsfield was 22 years old and refused to return with the Company to the place on rendezvous on September 10, 1861. No CSA Service records were found for him with this Company.

Elias Bivins  Mustered into Texas State Infantry Service on June 28, 1861 in Boston, in Bowie County, Texas. Chief Justice John A. Talbot was the Mustering Officer. He served in State service through the reformation to Cavalry and mustering out. His age was reported at 24 years on the Captain Wallis’ Muster Roll.

   Bivins mustered into the Confederate 11th Texas Cavalry Regiment on October 2, 1861 at Camp Reeves, in Grayson County, Texas. Major George W. Chilton of the 3rd Texas Cavalry was the Mustering Officer.

   Private Bivins was later captured at Florence, Kentucky on September 12, 1862. Prison records indicate he was 22 years old, born in Missouri and a Farmer by occupation. Sent to Cincinnati Military Prison and then Camp Chase in Ohio. Transferred to Cairo, Illinois on September 29, 1862. Exchanged at Vicksburg, Mississippi. He was present for the April 30, 1863 muster. Listed as absent, sick in Hospital at Rome, Georgia on the last two Muster Rolls. No further military records. A Statement of Service slip was sent to the Texas Commissioner of Pensions on February 1, 1917.

Henry Bivins  Mustered into Texas State Infantry Service on June 28, 1861 in Boston, in Bowie County, Texas. Chief Justice John A. Talbot was the Mustering Officer. He served in State service through the reformation to Cavalry and mustering out. His age is shown as 17 years on the Captain Wallis’ Muster Roll. He was then discharged for “underage”.

G.C. Bobelin  Only record is: On roll of soldiers from different commands surrendered by General E. K. Smith at New Orleans on May 26, 1865 and paroled at Shreveport, Louisiana in August of 1865.

S. Brooks  Enlisted at Rome, Georgia by Colonel J. M. Bounds on August 1, 1863. Present for December 31, 1863 and last Muster Roll with note: "Bounty Due". No further records.

He served in State service through the reformation to Cavalry and mustering out. His age was reported at 23 years old on the Captain Wallis’ Muster Roll.

   Burns mustered into the Confederate 11th Texas Cavalry Regiment on October 2, 1861 at Camp Reeves, in Grayson County, Texas. Major George W. Chilton of the 3rd Texas Cavalry was the Mustering Officer. On CSA records, he is shown as present on the December 31, 1861 Muster Roll only. No further records.

William A. Campbell  No Muster Roll records on file. Given Certificate of disability for discharge on ___ by Captain Hooks. He was 24 years old, born in Louisiana and a Lawyer before the War.

Benjamin C. Cawthorn   Last name also shown as Cothran. Mustered into Texas State Infantry Service on June 28, 1861 in Boston, in Bowie County, Texas. Chief Justice John A. Talbot was the Mustering Officer. He served in State service through the reformation to Cavalry and mustering out. He is reported to have died on September 20, 1861 in Bowie County. His age is shown as 19 years on the Captain Wallis’ Muster Roll.

John L. Chambless Enlisted January 19, 1862 at Boston, Bowie County, Texas by R.P. Crump. First shown present with Command on April 30, 1863 muster and then through the last Muster Roll. No further records on file.

He is also shown to have mustered into the Texas State service on June 28, 1861 at Boston in Bowie County, Texas. Chief Justice John A. Talbot was the Mustering Officer. No CSA Service records were found for him with this Company.

J.H. Gerdes  A Henry Gerdes mustered into the Texas State Infantry Service on June 28, 1861 in Boston, in Bowie County, Texas. Chief Justice John A Talbot was the Mustering Officer. The Captain Wallis’ Muster Roll shows J.H. Gerdes at 31 years of age and no Henry Gerdes. It appears that this is J. Henry Gerdes.

W.H. Greenhaw Enlisted February 1, 1862 at the Boston Mountains, Arkansas by J. J. Diamond. Present for all succeeding Muster Rolls. Detailed with Commissary Department for the final Muster Roll.

Joseph D.(or L.) Gregory  Enlisted November 2, 1861 at Fayetteville, Arkansas. Present for all subsequent Muster Rolls. Detailed to the Commissary Department during the December 31, 1863 Muster Roll. He was on regular duty for the final Muster Roll. 

Private Gregory was captured by the enemy at Griswoldville, Georgia on November 22, 1864. Sent to prison at Point Lookout, Mayland from Hilton Head, North Carolina on February 1, 1865. Took oath and was released on June 13, 1865. Residence was recorded as Lunenburg County, Virginia.

R.H. (A.) Haynie Mustered into the Texas State Cavalry Service on September 1, 1861 at Boston, in Bowie County, Texas. He served in State service through the reformation to Cavalry and mustering out. Benjamin P. Merrell Last name also listed as Merril, Murvill and Nerritt. Enlisted December 25, 1862 at Dallas, Texas by J. Smith. Present with Company as a private for April 30, 1863 muster. 

Federal records show private Merrell captured on June 1, 1863 near Liberty or Liberty Gap, Tennessee. He was sent to prisons at Nashville, Louisville, Camp Chase and finally Fort Delaware on July 14, 1863. At Fort Delaware it was decided that his rank was a 2nd Lieutenant and he was transferred to Officer's Quarters. Then on December 29, 1863 he was forwarded to Johnson's Isle Officer's Prison under the charge of U.S. Lieutenant J. S. Black. Remarks on POW roll state that he "Reported as Private, detected as an Officer". Benjamin was paroled at Johnson's Isle and forwarded to City Point, Virginia for exchange on February 24, 1865. 

Merrell was admitted to General Hospital of Howards Grove in Richmond, Virginia on March 1, 1865 with "remitant fever". There he is said of Wheeler's Brigade under Captain Dalby. Recall that 1st Lieutenant B. B. Dalby was dropped from the rolls prior to that date. Merrel was transferred to House No. 9 on March 6, 1865. Gave residence as Cedar Hill, Dallas County, Texas. No further records.

O.P. Moss  Also listed as O.E. Moss and R. Moss. Enlisted at Fayetteville, Arkansas on November 2, 1861 by J. J. Diamond. 

Appears on list of federal POWs shipped by Provost Marshall of Lexington, Kentucky to Louisville on October 31, 1862. The list states that he was arrested on October 30, 1862. He was sent to Vicksburg, for exchange, on December 4, 1862. 

Private Moss was present for the 1862 and 1863 musters. Absent, on furlough, from January 5 to February 29, 1864 (last Muster Roll date). No further records.

Sion A. Moss  Is not shown on Captain Morris’ State Muster Roll. On Captain Wallis’ Muster Roll, remarks state that private Moss was 22 years old and was discharged on September 8, 1861. Private B.F. Gerdes is shown as a substitute for him on that date.

   Later, Moss enlisted with this Company of the 11th Texas Cavalry at Camp Lubbock (Fayetteville), Arkansas on February 2, 1862 by J.J. Diamond. He was absent, on detached service, in Georgia from October 20, 1863 through at least February 29, 1864. No further records.

Name appears on a list of Rebel Deserters who had voluntarily taken and subscribed the oath of allegiance to the U.S. Government at the office of F. Young, Deputy Provost Marshall of Roane County, Tennessee during the month of December in 1863 and were permitted to go at large within Federal lines. Gave residence as Bowie County, Texas.

According to his great-grandson (Fant, undated), Private Benjamin Tiller was present at the surrender in Durham Station, North Carolina on April 26, 1865. He returned to Texas on horseback after going four years without furlough.
