As Texas Economy Expands, Governor Abbott Declares May 9-13 “Economic Development Week” in Texas | texasinsider

Texas Insider Report: AUSTIN, Texas – Governor Greg Abbott today recognized the critical role that local, regional and statewide economic development teams play in creating jobs, growing businesses and retaining businesses in communities across Texas by issuing a proclamation officially designating May 9 and 13 as Economic Development Week 2022 in Texas.

“Texas’ economy is America’s economic engine, and we are proud of our diverse, highly skilled workforce and the endless business opportunities that exist right here in the Lone Star State. Clearly the Lone Star State is the best state for business,” Governor Abbott said.

“These economic achievements would not be possible without the many economic development organizations across the state who are committed to creating jobs, driving innovation and investing in our great communities.

“Our state and our economy continue to reach new heights because of your efforts, and by working together, we will continue to make Texas the best state in which to live, work and raise a family.”

Governor’s Office for Economic Development and Tourism is responsible for marketing and promoting the State of Texas as a premier place of business and travel destination and works closely with regional and community partners to ensure that Texas remains the number one state for business in the country.

Under Governor Abbott’s leadership, Texas attracted more capital investment, new jobs and corporate headquarters moves last year than ever before in the state’s history. As a result, Texas continues to set new records for total employment and jobs. And thanks to dedicated economic development professionals and organizations in every region of the state, Texas has remained the best state for business for a record 18 consecutive years and has been awarded the Governor’s Cup for Offshoring Projects. and business expansion the most job creators the last 10 consecutive years.
