European stock markets end with mixed numbers

(MENAFN) European stocks ended mixed on Wednesday.

The STOXX Europe 600, which contains almost 90% of European market capitalization in 17 countries, rose 0.70 points, or 0.16%, to end at 432.05.

France’s CAC 40 was the day’s best performer, climbing 24.7 points, or 0.39%, to end at 6,386.

Italy’s FTSE MIB jumped 51.4 points, or 0.23%, to 22,431.

The German DAX 30 jumped 25.8 points, or 0.20%, to end at 13,220.

Spain’s IBEX 35, on the other hand, fell 26.9 points, or 0.33%, to 8,199 at the end of the day.

Britain’s FTSE 100 fell 16.6 points, or 0.22%, to close at 7,471.

Precious metals ended with mixed numbers, with gold jumping 0.25% to $1,765 and silver down 0.07% to $19,012.

Global oil benchmark Brent was selling at $101.65 a barrel, up 1.43%, while the US main West Texas Intermediate (WTI) was at $95.31, adding 1 .67%.
