Texas Capital Bank partners with Huston-Tillotson

Texas Capital Bank and the ABA launched the Commercial Loan Certificate Program for Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) in 2021 with Prairie View A&M University located in Prairie View, Texas. As a member of the ABA, Texas Capital Bank is able to expand its membership resources to provide specialized certificate programs to collegiate institutions, such as Huston-Tillotson University.

Taught by Dr. Derrick Bonyuet, the course has been designed to cover topics relevant to a comprehensive overview and understanding of the commercial lending landscape. Local Texas Capital Bank leaders will lecture during the program to provide real-life examples of curriculum content in the commercial lending process. Students who successfully complete the semester will automatically receive a business loan certificate from the ABA.

In addition, he provides advice on loan structuring and documentation issues in response to quantitative and qualitative risk analysis, which includes an overview of key documents, loan agreements and covenants, as well as negotiation. and pricing. The cost of textbooks needed for the course will be covered by Texas Capital Bank’s arrangement with the ABA.
